Mintabie is closed to mining, making these gems rarer, as time goes on and very sought after.  This beautiful opal displays green, red and blue.  The 2 distinct sides making a very interesting colour play mix. It is 4/5 brightness, with a bright red undertone, on display. The bottom of the stone was not able to be kept uniform, but should not impact the setting. There is a faint blocky pattern, in the centre, not easily recognised but there all the same. I find this, one of the more interesting pieces personally.....I love the way it reacts when moved.
