This large piece, is a freeform carving, from Queensland, Australia.  This material sets itself apart from all the other opal types, found in Australia. The precious opal layer, sits upon ironstone, making it unique and sought after.  The bands across the face, are also unique to this area, this particular piece displays bright RED/BLUE, which is the most valuable colour combination found. It weighs a healthy 44 carats and measures 37 x 21 x 6mm.  It carries a fine polish and will be a valuable addition to your collection or make large extravagant pendant.  It has a 3/5 brightness but the red stripe would be 5/5...its brilliant to look at.
